A haunted bird

abird with a thrusted arrow upon its chest,
fell down like a red rag doll.
it fell straightly on my lap.
I looked at it's half closed eyes.
there was some thing to read in it's eyes.
the little opend beak uttered something....
"Iam a hounted bird, which still loves the hunter.
Iam a wounded bird which loves the arrowswhich injured me.
Iam a dying bird which could never hate the trap."
I heard it with my heart.....
i read it with my spirit.....
but I simply leave the bird for its fate.
nothing more than thatI could do.....

discourse oriented approach

when I was a school going student, I had been taught English in a bad way. what i meant to say is that till I reached 10 th standard, i couldn't understand how to attempt the second paper in English. In case of the first paper some how I managed, because of my memory power. I used to byheart the question and answers, meaning of the words, singulars, plurals, opposit words etc. And I used to make byheart the English compostitions such as leave letters etc. Even then developing the outlines into a story was a himalayan task for me. Why to say much, i didn't even know the task was to develop the out line into a meaningful story.
But when i passed to 10th fortuanately i got a verygood English teacher. His name is K.P.Sivasankaran. He is the first teacher who gave some practices in developing the story, and in writing letters with different matters etc. He explained the tragic childhood of oliver twist though it was in transalation method. but he is a good performer of narrative, we pupil felt an empathy with oliver. and we saw the narrow streets of London, the vicioius eyes of Fagin the jew, Nancy, Brownlaw, Agnus the charectors of the novel in our inner eyes. and we saw the head of peirry cury[ madom curie's husband]rolled down on the road who was killed by an accident on the street. In short he is the teacher who inspired me to learn english with interest. He is the one who teaches us how to appreciate a story in english.

But what I wants to say is that about the discourse oriented paradigm. when i came to the teaching profession the things had been changed. The new approach gave much courage for us to speak, and write to express our ideas in English without fearing the 'grammer monster'.

and it opend the door which leads to the beauty of EnglishLanguage.we the practicing teachers' community sincearly thanking our Anandan sir who is the Appelate of this approach.we also get selfconfidence to construct various discourses.

my first experience

when i participated in the workshop which was conducted atRIESI, we got a chance to visit the language laboratory. Being a group of more than 40 we instructed to split in to two groups and visit the lab one by one. The experience at the lab was an astonishment for me. I had never been there before. And i thanked our govt sincearly in my mind.
when we entered the lab our Jayaraj sir introduced everything about the usage of the lab.and according to his instructions we started listeningand reading. When we started to record our own voices the lab filled with bassing sounds of malemembers. Being a single lady among the group i felt a little awkwardness.so i decided not to raise my voice much. so i record my voice in lower voice. after recording the voice i listned to myown voice. It was an amazing low voice.... .

my first experience

when i participated in the workshop conducted at RIESI our group got a chance to experience the language laboratory. That was an astonishment for me. Ihave never been their before. I heard a lot about it from our BRC Trainers. but the practical experience thrilled me. when we started recording the lab was filled with the sounds of male members of our group. As a one and only lady member among them, i felt a little awkwardness. So i record my sound in a lower voice, which i could never do.My friend used to complaint that i amalways talking in a higher volume. But now in the lab Ilowered my volume ofsound immensly and recorded it. when i listned to my own recorded sound once again I astonished. Bcos it was a just like a whispering hymns. It made me laugh at myself. Some of my collegues noticed it and shared the funny situation. That was what happend at the Language laboratory.

related to the FAQ

my collegues are having the complaint that in lower primary classess, the children can read well. But at the time processing a discourses they can't do it properly. and if we have to help the children to construct such discourses they need tryout classess based onthat.
